Celiac Disease Support Group
Celiac disease is an auto-immune disorder of the digestive system that occurs in genetically-predisposed individuals. It is characterised by damage or flattening to all or part of the villi lining the small intestine, which interferes with the absorption of nutrients. This damage is caused by eating anything with gluten (gliadin), a protein found in wheat, rye, and barley...

Welcome to this group, Jessica. I hope you will be encouraged here. As I mentioned to swag1, feel free to ask questions, make comments, or vent when needed. We understand.
@swag1
I've made several goodies that I like, such as quinoa chocolate cake, grain-free cookies from almond flour, grain-free brownies, bean bread, oatmeal-banana muffins, and GF sourdough bread. I'm also working on making GF donuts. Tried several, most of which were good, but trying to develop one basic dough that I can use for different flavors, such as chocolate, lemon-chia seed, lemon-blueberry, pumpkin, etc. I also like to make mug cakes. It's easy to take even a gluten mug recipe and make it GF, because of the small amount of flour being used. You just replace the regular flour with GF AP flour.

If either of you want to check out my pins, my Pinterest name is Davida M. Schwartz. A good Facebook group is Gluten Free Connections. And some good GF blogs are: The Gluten-Free Homemaker, Gluten Free on a Shoestring, Petite Allergy Treats, and others. Best wishes to both of you.

I have been reading some of the old posts and they seem to be helpful. I look forward to talking with you more. Hope you are doing good.
Thank you for the welcome! It is so great to be able to talk with others who understand what it is like to have to be gf.
The recipe looks great, I just printed it out. I will definitely have to try it out, I'll let you know when I do. I did have success making some gluten free hamburger buns last night. They actually tasted good, texture was nice, and even my non-gf hubby liked them. The recipe was from the gf baking classics cookbook, but did not add gelatin. They turned out great.
