Eye infections are fairly commmon in multi cat households. They get to playing and sometimes someones foot ends up in someone elses eye. Go online to either Jefferspet or Drs Foster & Smith and order some eye ointment. Jeffers has a better price BTW. Put it in kittens eye two or three times a day for 10 days. They won't like it but if you give them a favorite treat afterwards they'll get to associate a bad thing (medicine) with a good thing after (a treat) and usually become easier to handle.
In the mean time you can use warm com presses on the eye until the medicine arrives.
This is really the only way to deal with it that I know of without going to the vet (who will tell you the same thing I just did, but charge you a lot more for the advice).

Go to you local health food store and get a small bottle of colloidial silver drops if possible..wash the kittens eyes it will get rid of the infection..colloidial was made before penicillian to stop infections but it was discovered that the penicillian was a cheaper alternative, although some vets still do use it.

does the penecillian dropped right into the eye sound safe to you then ??

Sorry to hear of your kitty's eye infection. I wouldn't know if penecillin is good or not, you may try looking up Petplace.com to see if there are suggestions there. I would try and keep the area of the eye clean as often as can. Hope it clears up soon, poor sweetie.

I wouldn't put penicillin directly into the eye. Eyes are very sensitive and doing something without being absolutely sure it's safe could be damaging. As for colloidal silver it's very expensive. We used to sell it at the health food store for $30.00 for a small half-ounce bottle. You could use a solution of boric acid which some vets recommend for eye problems.

Penicillian in the eyes is not a good idea, I know the colloidial is expensive but it will get rid of the infection..try looking on line it is cheaper..

the pet store owner made the recommendation.she sold me some before but i didnt have the heart to put in my babies eyes and luckily they healed on thier own but my little guy now is the worst i have ever seen.most kittens eyes just goop up and close but his are acually blood red and swollen.what exactly is colloidal??

How should i go about with warm compresses?? should I wash with warm milk?/

Milk is good for foreign contaminants, but might make a an infection worse..use a emergency eye wash and warm it or even a warm fennel tea for compress..
