I have never bathed my cats. I would think, though, that just doing it on a regular basis would get them used to it.

Thanks for the advice...that's what someone else said, eventually they will get use to a bath. It's not often, only every three months or so.

I saw on the program Too Cute on the Animal Planet, that the woman was bathing the kitchen with a soft washcloth--sort of like their momma'a tongue???

I bathe both of my adult cats and I never got them until they were adults. They like nice baby warm water and I use warm water in a container with shampoo (so the shampoo is diluted in half) and I try to find a good shampoo for them. Both of them will meow like they are being killed as they sit in this large tub of water in the sink and I take care of them.

I also have many very large towels to dry them off right away. This gets a lot of the water off of them. My one cat I dry him by lightly rubbing the towel all over him and after about the third towel of doing this, he fell asleep in my arms.

Thank you that's very good advice. I will try to start by using just a warm soft washcloth until I can get them use to sitting in the water.

A suggestion. Don't use shampoo on the washcloth yet and do put them in an empty little tub so they get used to sitting in a tub for the washcloth light rub. If you lightly do the rub under the chin, and the cheeks, it should be like their momma used to groom them and it may help bring back some feelings of that. Eventually move to a little warm water in the tub. And it all goes very slow and eventually you have cats getting bathed.

Thanks I will try this...I think I'll be able to use just the warm washclohte...but the tub (without water) will take time.

Two suggestions; trim their claws before the bath (if needed depending on how often you want to bathe them) and give them a favorite treat afterwards so they start to associate something uncomfortable with something good.
