My white cat duchess used to get sunburn on her eyelids and ears. When her skin was healing she would rub it constantly and it would bleed. she also used to rub her face on rugs and rough surfaces to scratch the area and end up with bald patches on her face. Its got to be something that is making her itchy, she has either been stung or she has been brunt or she has got something irritating on her fur like oil perhaps! I used to bathe Duches with milk to cool it and when it was dry just warm very slightly salted water to stop infection. Be careful as the salt obvioulsy really stings if there is too much in the solution.
It may just sort itself out as long as you keep it clean she should be ok unil you can get her looked at.

Some of her skin around her neck etc looked dry and flaky, so we used some cat shampoo we had at home with tea Tree and Aloe Vera in it to see if it helped. Well we only managed one application and we won't be putting her or us through that again. I still have the scratches to prove it !!!!!!!!!!

We are keeping an eye on it, and will take her to the vet as soon as we can if it doesn't sort itself out.

This is a worse case scenario: she has a type of mite, so small that you can't see it without a microscope.
My cat had dry, flaky patches start for no reason. She was also scratching herself and making her skin bleed. We also used frontline for fleas.
Some how, some way, this strange type of mite, (it has a long name that starts with an S), started living on my cats body.
When it started to bite my husband and me, we definitely took the cat to the Vet.
The treatment is easy, and inexpensive, but get your cat to the vet ASAP, before the mites turn on you!
Hopefully, this won't be your problem.

We eventually got her to the vet last evening, and despite the fact that every 4 weeks we treat the cats and the house, she has got fleas - apparently the one we are using Frontline isn't working as effectively anymore. So she has now had an injection which sterilises the fleas and lasts for 6 weeks, the other 3 cats are going in next Thursday to have their injections as well. So the vet has reckoned that she has developed a flea bite allergy and this is what has caused her to dig her face (dear of her). She also has dried skin but this could be a result of the allergy. She had an anti-itch injection as well to break the cycle of scratching and also an antibiotic to prevent infection of the wounds she has got.
So hopefully we will have her sorted out soon.

my cat Leo dug on his side this summer we treated him for fleas it is better now, but even though he was treated he still pull part of his fur out of his side. I not sure it was because it was hot weather or what he is fine now. We had pro line him for fleas and bath him and all. It could have been nerves I hope not but we had just got the kittens and he was civil about the transaction, but I am not sure he truly like getting new brothers. He is fine now I hope your cat will be fine.

Could be mites. Or a skin problem.
You can put Calendula ointment on the scratches and that will help heal them. The ointment will probably kill any mites she has.
