I have a wrist splint for my left hand and am seriously considering buying one from Rite Aid for my right. I think you need to have a metal piece in it for it to allow your wrist to rest. It keeps me from drawing my wrist up under my chin while sleeping.

yes they help but,after awhile they don't help.Your hands will go complely numb,and don't let them talk u into having them both done at the same time.You think u hurt now?Boy, are u in for a big surprise.

I used to have one for each arm that my mother baught me THat worked at first but they hurt after a while. BUT my father baught me one from Walmart with a pillow cusion inside (and one that can go on top) and it REALLY helps me. I LOVE the pillow, it conforms to my wrist and prevents it form curling while I sleep. I also love it when I am typing I can put it on and it acts as a block to stop using my hand... otherwise I'll try and use it till it hurts till I cry.
I only have one, so my other arm always hurts. I need to find a Walmart around here and buy another one. I really love it. It has a metal part in it as well which is the support.

Also forgot to add, I like the pillow one better because my wrists and hands are small and the pillow sort of helps it stay in one place, rather then rattle around in the spint... even for the small size it is.

i have found that they only work for a period of time. i also used one that stabalized the thumb along with the wrist, it seemed to help also. but after time i had to have the surgery and it was great. i could tell immediately, i have had both hands done and had to have the right one twice. i drove a school bus and it was an issue with the cause along with the need to be constantly crocheting. haha. still would recommend a splint for a short period.. had a dr. tell me that if you wait too long you can have some permanent nerve damage..

I use splints on both arms everynight. I have numbness from MS and Carpal Tunnel both. Seems to help.

I have wrist splints for both of my hands.It has helped a lot I no longer wake up in the middle of the night.also I wake up in the morning with less pain and stiff ness.

They worked for me and it's gotten better. Now I'm wondering if I need some sort of foot splint because I have a strange pain in my foot at night.

I like my splint at night but I have just started to use it. I don't really know down the road how it will feel but i do know for now I don't want to give it back.

The wrist splint didn't help at all and after a month of using it I had surgery.

I first read this book shortly after it came out, and it is still one of the best books out there for DID. Plus, I've been to Dr. Ross' treatment center in Texas, and he has more books out now that are just as good. If you need accurate, easy-to-understand information about DID, then this is one of the best books out there, along with his other books.

i havent read this book yet, but i also have been to his treatment center and learned alot about myself and why i do the things i do.
