Caring for aging parents can be a difficul time as we become the caretakers for our parents. Today Mom had to see the dentist. Worried about cost the whole time. All the things my parents prepared for and elected no dental ins. They thought they had been healthy and out of pocket cheaper. Proven not to be so in the last
few years.
While Mom was with dentist the receptionist remarked how much slower Mom is so rapidly.
I guess I know this. But the look on someones face when they say these things sticks in my mind. It is what they see and is a valuable measure. Especially a person who sees mom a few times per year for many years.
It is so easy to get caught up in day to day. Maybe miss cues or for what could help make things easier or more comforting. Such as the power chair so she can get from car to places easier. I was not sure when to start this. I don't want to discourage movement because her circulation is so poor.
The whole ordeal of the dentist wore Mom out and she is sleeping in a chair with a pencil in her hand, and puzzle on her lap.For me, I just feel a bit stunned. You know, for the day that her chair is empty and pencil sets quietly nearby.

I agree to keep your mom moving as much as possible is the right thing to do.
Im feeling a little sad today too.
Just dropped Mom off to Visit Dad and he totally looked like shit today. I love him so much but I think its so cruel he has to linger.
So lets agree to be sad for a while and t hen get moving ourselves doing something productivew!
Im going to get so,me house cleaning done and then go spend some time with my horse!
