Mom died Aug 4th.....we buried her on aug 10th it was a beautiful event....it was one of those I will not forget....lots of people I did not know and some I certainly did know.....anyway I guess I probably should leave this group now....no more elderly parents....just elderly siblings....

I am very sorry for your loss.... it must be hard... and i hope you have wonderful memories to carry you forward.

you do not have to leave the group if you do not want. we have much to learn from you. my mother is only 77 but beginning to have illness and is mentally unstable.

i could benefit from any knowledge you have about how to care for an elderly / needy / unhealthy person that i love but still be able to hold my boundaries and care for myself at the same time.

so sorry to hear of your loss and hugs and blessings.

It is hard to lose a parent but when your parent is closer than some best friend thats real hard.

Does your mom live with you? Mine lived alone until 92 when she went to supported living. Thats where she died. In her apt with my two sisters with her. I was at work.

I haven't been out here in quite some time. I was really saddened to read this Bill. You were always a great son to her. Always looking out for her best interests. She was a firecracker! She was a wonderful lady from all your stories of her. My sincerest condolences on your loss of your beloved mother. I hope you are doing well.

thanks PD and she left me a lot of money so now I am paying cash to buy my first house......it is not an expensive house but it is a nice house....

I finally made it over here, so sorry to hear of your loss of your mom.

As I am now preparing to help my mom with the changes, someone mentioned this group, and I was going to post here.

it is still hurting when I think I want to call Mom oh phone to share something and think I can't......her money has helped me change homes and hopefully change little more than just a home but also how I live life.....

It's going to get hotter here with Thursday being the hottest. It's noon and 75f feels more like 80 or more.I've been cleaning up the deck in this morning and cleaning the windows outside. Then I cut up a pallet in half, I've decided to call it quits now because I went a bit light headed. Joanne, some drugs we take have an effect on us in the heat, I know a couple of mine do, maybe yours...
