Caring For Aging Parents Support Group
Caring for aging parents can be a difficul time as we become the caretakers for our parents. This broad responsibility can encompass such services as assisted living, adult day care, long term care, nursing homes, hospice care, and in-home care. Whether you have just started caring for your parents or just need a place to talk, we're here.
All I can think to say is to work on putting emotional distance between you and your mom.
Gentle hugs
Are you in any support groups for your eating disorder?
Especially when brother is dealing with the hysteria....you need to make yourself realize that "it isn't happening to me." I learned that skill when my son was in jail for his alcoholism...(now sober!) ...I would get so upset that he was in jail...til I finally realized he was safe, sober and being fed....and that it wasn't happening to me. (does that explain what I mean better?)
You and your brother are doing a fantastic job in a hard situation. Hugs to you
I am sorry for your stress, but it should be reassuring that your brother is at least helping with your Mom's care.
As far as the eating disorder goes, I understand. I am a food addict (sugar). I have not eaten anything with sugar in it for about 2 weeks. I feel really good now, but I know if stress levels get too bad, I could easily turn to sweets for comfort. I don't know what your eating disorder is (I haven't been on this forum very long), but I hope you can meditate and get some peace now.
