I've been feeling under the weather with a bad head cold, but here I am!
Hope you are all hanging in there, and dealing with the ""rents", the best way ya know how.
Mom moved up one floor from Rehab, into the Nursing Home care floor. Same view, just one floor up, into Long Term Nursing Home care.
She had the same bad head cold, so she's not feeling well, but the 1st few days were tough.
She said "I don' t like it here, I wanna come home"...Told her I'd look into 24 care pricing for home.
Then the next day she said, "I'll give it a try,,so don't call anywhere.
I think she realizes she needs the nursing care there. So, she is ok, although the food still sucks, cause they are all prepared for all of the buildings, so not getting any better food. She refers to the meatloaf as the "MYSTERY MEAT".. LOL!! Mom does have a sense of humor.
She is failing, but that's expected. So, i'm trying to get the house in order, probably will put it on the market in the spring.
I can't handle a whole house myself, being disabled, and I'm pretty much set on moving in with my partner after March 2014. Plus, I know my brother, and he'll wanna "cash in" on the house sale since he's not working full time. He got laid off after 18 yrs as a DJ, and is job searching..ITs not going well.
Ok, that's about it. Just hanging in there. Gonna stay away from Mom, since we both have colds, and she said everyone there including the Nurse's are sick!!

Sorry to hear you have a cold. Take care of yourself as you have been going, going and going. I am glad your Mom is adjusting. Sounds like you are getting things in order and doing a great job at it. Thoughts and Prayers are with you and your family as you move forward.

Yes, DYnamical..i'm realizing I don't have to rush around trying to figure out where Mom will stay. That's a lot of pressure of me.
Now, I'm working on the house, sorting thru stuff, throwing away, cleaning..with a lot of help from my Home Health Aide.
Yes, I'm going to bring her a few homegrown tomatoes from a farm stand, cause she loves them. After I feel better, i'll bring up some family pictures, and some more clothes for her. Just want to make her more comfy there.
