Hey there, big stuff going on. Wrote it in a journal though.
My Mom is forgetting and seems to know it. So to find out details I have tried to reward the good inside the bad behavior.
For ex. Last night I asked her to find something and help me with tax prep. She did it and was pleased because she could. So as a surprise, I vacuumed her sleeping chair (she doesnt use a bed re COPD)
and room. The office area and cleaned the computer. And the cherry on top was loading new books onto the Kindle. Ok, there was a Little Debbie treat added in here :)
The good mood has carried over. We are beginning Sunday with smiles and no complaints.
Hope all are finding good times with there loved ones along the way.

What great ideas you have for rewarding your Mom for good behavior.
My mom is almost always nice now but when I sense something is bothering her I read to her or ask her to help in the kitchen or with the laundry.
Or I will take her out for a little shopping or to visit with one of my friends. We make peace here as much as possible, and mom is SOOOOOOO very much happier now that she is no longer a bitch!!!!!!
And i'm not thrilled that not much love and support is coming from the rest of the family. i know they all have their own lives, but this is all the life WE have here. They may regret their lack of interest one day.
I can get to edgy. Mom even said yesterday that I don't get mad and yell (like she and Dad always did). That I whine. Ha ha.. thanks Mom.
DP I also think families often have just one of two if lucky who care about the elders. Or anyone in need for that matter.
On those days that are tough and frustrating, I try to tell myself what you said about "this is all the life we have." Makes me settle down a bit and enjoy any moment that may come along. Sometimes they come between mood swings with my Mom. But they do come and I am happy for that.
