I'm not normally into reality TV, but the other day I found myself watching The Tatum and Ryan O'neal show on OWN network. And on Piers Morgan show, Ryan blamed the cancer Farrah Fawcett developed on Tatum. Never mind the cancer the poor woman got was a result of a virus--a virus that Tatum had nothing to do with.
Which brings me to my own dad. He had a bunion that started back in WWII. I was born in the 1950s. He refused operations on it. I spent my childhood listening to him say he's going to get surgery next year. He never did. Finally, last year, at the age of 82, it got worse. He could barely walk. It was at this point that my husband passed, leaving me some money. I gave my father nearly 20,000 dollars to retire from his job at the post office. Yes, my 82 year old father was working 6 days a week, delivering mail with a toe that was so deformed, you wondered how he was still standing.
I got him all new furniture too, hired professional decorators, after my father said he hated the way his house looked. . It was the decorators job to move furniture, but my father wanted to prove he still had it. So he helped. Flash forward one year when he told me, his very broke daugher that it was my fault that his toes were broken. This in spite of the fact that the doctor said they'd been broken for a long time due to the severity of the bunion.
My father constantly throws it in my face that I broke his toes b;y making him carry the furniture. Never mind that I'm broke from giving him money for a year. Never mind what the doctor says. He still likes to say that I broke those toes.
So, here's Ryan, on nationwide TV, saying the same thing to his daughter who has lived a life of hell, courtesey of said father.
So sad.

Pain for no reason is just plain wrong.
I am sorry that your father said this to you perhaps he does not know that it hurts you when he says these things i am sorry that you have taken your fathers words to heart is there not another way at seeing it in order for you to ease your pain?
