Caring for aging parents can be a difficul time as we become the caretakers for our parents. The social worker came and said I am doing what is expected for someone like my Mom. The woman helped with the dont drive issue. Not that Mom is any less mad. Just that it came from someone else.
Oh to watch independence be stripped away from someone losing their abilities. It is sad when they know.
The Lifeline allowed her 3 hours by herself. I brought home chocolate.
That was welcomed. Later she said she was going to read and then sleep.
It was nice and she was happy.
Checking on her I found that she hates wearing the Life alert. I told her if she took it off that it called EMS. Lets see if she recalls it by tomorrow.
I am so tired from a week of fussing with her. She hated the social worker and told me she would move to an apt if one came back. I thought one could only hope. And we know it really isn't possible. I try to find what it could really mean. Why so threatened. How can we get some calm going around here. Constant put down and hatred. Is this Alz? No one seems to know.

I do not know exactly what you are going through as my mother is not always mad , but sometimes she can be so demanding and threatening. She does have Parkinson's and frequent UTI'S so I really don't know which one it is. I know care giving is so tiring and it is so hard to get too mad b/c you love the person and know they are probably not in their right mind. I live with my mother too who is bedridden so I have to do everything for her! So I know that HELP!!! feeling. It does definitely sound like dementia of some sort and anger is common. It easily could be Alz. I think it such a shame that some people have to go out that way and leave their family members with a lot of stress and maybe some bad memories.
