I had a frantic phone call from mom this morning. Asking about the weather for today and tomorrow. She is worse. And wants to go to doctor, a specialist. Told me it was too cold. But few hours later she called again. She cant bend on of her arms now. I dont know if at all or barely. She told me brother cant read but he can with a lot of difficulty.
She has doctor appointment tomorrow. She has to be desperate to be willing to go out in 30 degree weather. I was so stressed I had to take a bubble bath. Brother is limited on what he will do for her. The comming storm is adding more stress. They say at least one foot of snow. And likely power outtages. Thats the last thing mom needs. The only good thing is that brother is there for emergencies. That she isn't totally alone. She only knows one neighbor. And that family is not friendly.
I managed to calm myself down some after the bath. I did deep breathing and visualized a field of flowers.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

It sounds like your mother needs to understand natural consequences. Can you call her doctor and tell him what is going on? He may tell you that there is nothing they can do now that they can't do after the storm. Perhaps your mother needs a reinforcement about not waiting to the last minute.
Gentle hugs
The arm problem is probably her lymphedema; there's nothing that you can do yourself for her. The only possible thing I could think of is asking the PT to come back for a massage.
Just try to relax, I'm sure they'll be fine.

There's nothing you can do from where you are so I would concentrate on getting your own house ready, if you already haven't. If you need some advice on what to load up on, just PM me. Trust me, I go through this "every" winter up here in Southern New Hampshire...
Oh, are you seeing any snow yet??? I thought I saw something this morning about snow coming in already somewhere south of us?
no one going anywhere.
well, that solves that dilemma.
They need to hunker down and hang on for a couple of days.
hope the power stays on there...and at my mom's house in NY too.
How good that you got control of your self and got calmer. That was a good move.
