Caring For Aging Parents Support Group
Caring for aging parents can be a difficul time as we become the caretakers for our parents. This broad responsibility can encompass such services as assisted living, adult day care, long term care, nursing homes, hospice care, and in-home care. Whether you have just started caring for your parents or just need a place to talk, we're here.
But I found it online, I think:

Perhaps Chrissy can watch enough of it to verify if that is the program she is talking about!
I think the most important message too take away from this broadcast is take care of these matters WAAAYY before you think you need to.
Have family meetings. Assess parents wishes and do what you can to follow them but realize at some point it might not be possible.
Full financial disclosure is important pare of the plan too.
Lawyers and social workers can all help with sort of thing.
I am new to this myself and only began to be shocked about my own dilemma with my mother in the past 6 months as she was diagnosed with dementia and is in very good physical health. I have learned many things including that she never purchased life insurance or a pre-paid end of life account for services, cremation, etc. This becomes a catch 22 when looking at medicaid rules for becoming qualified. She has a great pension + SS + medical for life, but does not have a large savings and long term health care insurance so, she can be placed in a non-medicaid facility in PA. Each state is different I am learning in terms of the private market and their requirements.
Nobody wants to face these unpleasant issues and choices but the longer you wait..........
States are different in some respects but not by much.
Pretty much have do impoverish yourself to get on Medicaid.
