My mother passed in August of this year, my MIL (very healthy for 93 years old) lives with us.
I wrote a lot more but it didn't show up. Oh well ! My daughter came today and cleaned moms room and gave her a bath. Bless that child, people don't have an idea of what its like to work all day then come home and work another for hrs., She suffers from some dementia, and arthritis.She's had some surgery's and has fallen, she has good days and bad days. Thanks for the Hellos and welcomes. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday, mom used to do most of the cooking but I have taken over all that ,(we don't let her cook).So I have a date with a 21 pd turkey and some pies lol.
I down sized to a 14 pound turkey this year. We are going to my sister's inlaws for Thanksgiving. (My sister passed away about 3 years ago, but the families are still close.)
So with just the 4 of us (long story: us= me + my wife + my father + my MIL) and possibly our 2 grown children 14 pounds of turkey should do just fine for a post Thanksgiving meal. Perhaps early December?
Yes, it s good to have family who helps out. So far we have not needed help from the next generation as my father and my MIL are not heavy loads.
