Well, haven't written here in awhile... it's been total triage again after Mother had a bad bout with UTI and then Sepsis. I wasn't even in town - which gives me some guilt - but DH (is that darling husband??) was and when he told me by phone she was sick, we agreed she had to go into ER. Darling ex-stepsister-in-law (figure it out...) helped SO much and Mother spent 5 days in hospital. Now soooo weak, but in rehab so just starting to get better. But rehab is so awful so much of the time - not always, some workers/nurses there are wonderful but others are insensitive, rude, abrupt.
Now we're starting to look at Home Health services. She WANTS to come home but still can't get herself out of bed or walk very far - with or without walker, cane, etc. And now today she has a cough and feels awful. I'm so worried that she got this cough/cold? from one nasty worker who pushed her into the hall after a shower last week, with wet hair and into a/c!! I complained to admin - I ain't shy!! - but the damage was done. Chest x-ray today showed some "thing" that the nurse mentioned but I didn't really understand. Doctor appt tomorrow so we'll find out more.
But how did you decide on Home Health? I just spent some time on the Medicare website and based on what I saw there, comparing companies, I think I know which one looks best. But are there other ways to approach this?
