Caring For Aging Parents Support Group
Caring for aging parents can be a difficul time as we become the caretakers for our parents. This broad responsibility can encompass such services as assisted living, adult day care, long term care, nursing homes, hospice care, and in-home care. Whether you have just started caring for your parents or just need a place to talk, we're here.
My Dad passed 4 years ago and at that time I learned Mom had
vascular dementia. It took time but I got use to the reason for her madness. Still, she needed some things to help her life not struggle.
I stay at Moms because it was easier. It took a lot to give up freedom and deal with changes. Now there is a system and as long as I keep things consistent then we do better.
Sorry to hear your Dad is not well. It makes your Moms mean streak harder to deal with I suspect. Try to take time for yourself and regroup. It may give you a moments peace at least.

Try explaining that you are very sorry your dad is ill but you need to pull together and support each other. A family mission of sorts.
Welcome to the group. Keep us posted.
My prayers go out to your father I lost my brother in 2012 with cancer of the brain I have found that with these sorrowful events in our lives that tenderness and love can conquer many things not by running away but embracing what god has placed before us! I also lost my father in 2010 I am still here and have not abandoned my mother as I am caring for her who has a unoperable brain tumor! Learning to succumb to these challenges and journeying together with our loved ones is truly a very important mission that god has chosen all of us to endure he does not leave our side he rewards those with the same measures they have given and gives back ten fold! Hope is always there for us if we ask for his strength and counsel! And of course many here that have wonderful advise and support as you travel on this journey with your loved ones!! God bless
