Hey guys,
My mother-in-law is 58 years old, and for the past two years, she has been suffering from a strange neck condition. Her head leans to one side. It sounds weird, and it looks like she is holding it that way, but she can't straighten her head. The nerves/muscles on the right side of her neck are damaged and weakened.
She has been consulting a chiropractor and physiotherapist, but there is no benefit and no diagnosis with these treatments. As a possible cause, the doctor suggested it may be,
> due to some trauma (a long year back she had met with a car accident)
> due to carrying heavy things (she used to carry a heavy shoulder bag for many years on this affected side)
And recently, her doctor suggested taking Botox treatment like getting Botox injections directly into the muscle.
I feel terrible because it really affects her social life and mental state. Moreover, she is constantly being questioned about it.
Has anyone had experience with this or something similar? If so, I would like to hear from you. How did you manage to fix it? Any help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks!

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Exercises with balance will provide some measure of relief and standing with a book on the head will help wake up "frozen" muscles from years of uneven weight.
Best wishes finding the solution.
I don't think that physio or a chiropractor should be seen without a medical diagnosis first
I hope that she can find the help that she needs soon..... Big hug.....xo
