Caring For Aging Parents Support Group
Caring for aging parents can be a difficul time as we become the caretakers for our parents. This broad responsibility can encompass such services as assisted living, adult day care, long term care, nursing homes, hospice care, and in-home care. Whether you have just started caring for your parents or just need a place to talk, we're here.
If your mom qualifies to go to NH you might be able to get a placement. But even the nursing homes only have so many Medicaid beds!
And it is a harsh business finding care for the elderly. Basically if you don't have money you are screwed.
Start calling around to the nursing homes and ask to speak to the social worker. She will be a fountain of info and guidance.
There is also a free service called A Place For Mom you can call for advice. Good luck sand keep us posted.
I couldn't add anything more than what Trojan added. It's going to mean numerous phone calls and information gathering for you.
