Yea, that was the word he used!
Basically he realized that most of his stress was coming from unreasonable people. He ended up selling/closing down his company and moved back east to where his wife had family. Last I heard (many years ago) it worked.
I'm not saying to move away from your family, but look to the people and things that add stress to your life. Eliminate the ones you can and are willing to.
We all have toxic friends (hopefully they are ex-friends); you know the ones who, no matter what is going on, you always feel worse after you see them than you did before.
Remove them from your life if you can!
Sometimes we have expectations of others that they just never live up to. It could be small or big things for example: your husband leaving the toilet seat up, a co-worker who smacks their gum all day, clerks at the store calling you 'honey' or 'sweetie'.
Realize that they may never realize how jerky they are being. Ignore them!
Sorry if this only addresses little things, but sometimes the little things add up to more than the big things.
Gentle hugs.
NNN: Is this person negative to your life? Neutral? Nurturing?
THat still helps me sort out relationships.
Yep. Downsize the icky. Limit exposure when you can't eliminate it totally. (I moved 400 miles away from my dad's family and wow, did I feel better....)
Supportive hopes to you.
