Caring for aging parents can be a difficul time as we become the caretakers for our parents. My mother has so many issues that I don't know where to begin. She has always been a tempermental, high-maintenance woman but in the last 6-7 years, she has gone overboard.
She was saved a few years ago and watches Christian TV 24/7. She has become a zealot. She beats me and my brothers over the head with her religeon and the Doomsday prophecy she hears on TV. She gets so angry at me at times that I expect her to give the four horseman of the apocolypse my address.
When she isn't carrying on about that, she tells me about her personal stalker who hides under her house and aggravates her. She hears things nobody else can hear and will run to the door and scream "Be gone evil in the name of JC our savior!!!"
She rails at the utility company representatives if there is a minor mistake on the bill.
She feeds the neighborhood animals then screams at them to go away.
The list is endless. I realize that my mom needs help but she refuses to get it. She is sane enough to care for herself, clean her house and pay her bills so Social Services can't step in although they think she's off the wall. I've had several conversations with them and they tell me their hands are tied right now.
She calls and complains bitterly about everything from A-Z and I am just exhausted from dealing with her. My brothers have distanced themselves because they can't cope with her yet I feel compelled to at least try. It has put a big strain on me because I want to help her but don't know how. What can I do other than take the phone off the hook?

Maybe you could just try agreeing with her ??? My mother got into very agressive moods sometimes and agreeing with everything got her off my back. Sorry you have to deal with this Katie xx
