Hi all,
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and took some time for yourself, to relax, and kick back and eat some good food!!
I apologize, for my absence in the group. I got busy with taking care of my home. I had help in getting the house organized, and "de-clutterized" from Mom living here, and so I took advantage of that, as I do want to sell the home in the spring.
So, now the house is soooo nice!!!
My Mom is in the nursing home, and has been since August. She is in the long term care nursing facility, and hates it, of course! Do any of them really ever like it there???
We got her out of the nursing home yesterday for a trip to my cousin's for Thanksgiving dinner. I am disabled, and it's very hard to have her here at home, for a meal, because she has a balance issue, and falls quite often. I can't physically pick her up, so I'm not comfy with having her home alone with me, and as you can imagine, it's not easy to find someone that is NOT working, to come and just be here "in case" she falls.
SO, my cousin's and Aunt cooked, and we went there. Mom ate really good, enjoyed my cousin's, and the dog, and my cousin's 4 & 6 year old daughters and we had a really nice time!!
We were both exhausted. I have a very bad back, and hard time walking, and Mom was not used to being out for so long, and visiting etc...
But, we just really enjoyed it, and I loved just seeing her sitting around talking, and eating and socializing with our cousin's.
Again, hope you all had a great holiday, and I'm sorry for my absence. I will try to catch up on the posts in the next few days, to see what you have all been up to, and how you and your parent's are doing.

And yes. Some ppl DO like being in nursing home!
My MIL LOVES it. She was lonely at home and now has a great social life where she lives!

I will be having my gastric bypass surgery on Dec 10th, so I may be "absent" in about a week, but will try to ck in more frequently!
