Caring For Aging Parents Support Group
Caring for aging parents can be a difficul time as we become the caretakers for our parents. This broad responsibility can encompass such services as assisted living, adult day care, long term care, nursing homes, hospice care, and in-home care. Whether you have just started caring for your parents or just need a place to talk, we're here.
I've found routine, sleep, keeping active during the day, hydrating and healthy diet help, B12, Vitamin E and CoQ10 are some things that have helped some, but now my Dad is taking stronger meds for cognitive issues. Aricept, Namenda, Exelon and other may help.
If you check on the "dementia" group on this site you may find some more helpful information on the cognitive issues he's having. I wish you luck in your search and keep forging forward until you find the right help. Bless you.
Sister will look into his seeing a neurologist after we deal with radiation treatments for a cancer under his arm. Those start on Thursday. I don't know how long they last.
The PAC did give him a B12 shot, but Dad said it did nothing for him. I might ask the PAC if taking some B-complex gelcaps might help. I take them myself.
Thanks, again.
