health care poa. rights?

As health care poa, i can decide where my mom lives.  what if my bro as finance poa refuses to pay it ? 


she is heading towards memory care.  we want her to be closer to us.  my bro who lives out of state is full of insults so I don't communicate with him anymore.  can i make the choice about where to move her independant of him?

It will be very hard to do this; he could be a total jerk and refuse to pay. Going to court to get him off as POA/finance may be your only option.

Is there another sibling, or family member, or trusted mutual friend, who can help you two

hey pepper.. or anyone who knows. what do you mean exactly? it will be very hard to do what?
are you saying it would be hard for him to refuse payments? or .. it will be hard for me to make the choice?

Yes, your brother could resent your choice of where to put mom, and refuse to write the checks needed to keep her there. A lot depends on the wording in the document that gives him POA over finances.

And yes, it is also hard to make the choice to put a parent into assisted living.
