Things were pretty good here, but I did get reminded that we did not do any of the cute things that my sister in law does.

Sigh. Right, we'll never be her. But then she complains about this person too, so the bottom line is we do what we can but we are different people and things will be different,

Sometimes I think they complain because they have nothing else to talk about. When you think about it their lives are severely limited. They don't work or get out with friends. Most don't cook or food shop. So what do they have to talk about? Doctors and pains and US :)

MY MIL complains to each one of her kids about the other kid (s) and their families...............as well as complains about any and every little ache or pain.............and visits at least one doctor a week for sumptin......even if she has to make sumptin up.

She has a full daily schedule of complaining............its her life......if no one is there to hear the complaints.........she will call someone.

She plays one kid against the other like a chess game..........if they day ever came that they sat down together and compared notes, she would be in deep shit...............but that day will never come as she has worked hard all her life to turn one against the other, and there is no going back now.......the wounds are way too deep......even though most of them are just made up stories in her head, to get attention......................

Its a sad state of affairs:(:(

I think I had that same Easter Bunny sitting at my dining room table. Sat there through the entire meal and never spoke to anyone. Completely ruined the dinner with her presence.

Actually my Husband shot and killed the Easter Bunny three years ago because he was poaching my llillies!

One fun thing I thought of too late was to make a 'grownup" Easter basket for my Mom.

I wouold put stuff in it like her favorite snacks, a piece of jewelry, etc. etc.

This was a fun thread. I am so fortunate to know a place where others connect over the caring for parents.
