Hey Folks, I am having a really hard time seeing. The page is washed out and the glare is ridiculous. The reason is cataracts. I will have tem removed within a month. Just in time for my 52nd bday.

Just to laugh of course. My Mom called my a hypochondriac and that I just wanted attention. LOL. She also wants me to just get the plain lenses and keep wearing glasses. Now, why would anyone do this?
Aside from UV protection, protection from debris, or to read.

Mom also said "some one needs to take your car away since you cant see....get a dose of your own medicine." LOL

I will be around here and there though.

Sorry P but t his did make me laugh! Sounded like an episode of Golden Girls or something.

Good luck with the cataract surgery. A friend of mine had hers done and got the corrective lenses.

She is thrilled with the result and says she sees like she is twenty again.

So go for it Babes and ignore the old bag!! =)

My parents had it and it was great! My MIL had it (years ago) and it did not go so well. Given all the advancements in eye care, I agree with TroJan,

You to have the surgery otherwise you would miss all this good stuff. I do suggest if your hearing goes you leave it alone then you won't have to listen to her comments . But with good eye sight you could still read lips . Good luck anyway!

I have heard that when people get cataract surgery, they can once again see. If that was true, I wish I had them so I could have surgery and be able to see again! Good luck with your surgery and keep us posted, okay? Hugs GB

I am ok with the procedure now. My Mom still thinks I am faking it. Also, she thinks I have a goiter , need more salt intake and vitamin C. LOL. Could not help being smart mouthed. I told her that I had not been on a ship at sea for awhile

I just don't understand why people have the need to be cruel to others. You are going to see better then ever after your cataract surgery. I have known people who end up not even needing to wear glasses after the surgery. You are not a hypocrite. That word is thrown out there like the word hi. Not a very good analogy but I'm sure you know what I mean. Let us know after you have your surgery and how much better you can see!! Hugs GB

Insurance wont be adding the Surgery center, working on my eyes,
until Jun1. So Jun 2 is my appointment. I am feeling happier about not having to wear glasses as often to see after the procedure. I am hopeful it works out this way anyway.

Guess I will work on my goiter for now LOL

Absolutely, I would have the surgery done. It's such a common procedure these days. I think it's two separate appointments though to have the both eyes done. Whatever the case, I'd be running there to get my eyes fixed.

Yes to 2 appointments. One eye per week. Follow up for one month.
Healing is fast. I am having a laser procedure. It will reshape and correct the eye so it can see the best possible which is basically excellent far sightedness. There are a couple other options but this is best for my situation.

I would trade my floaters for cateracts peaceful! Wanna trade. Lol
