As for me, my relatives no longer visit much. They expected us use up all our vacation time and money paying for them to tour. When we refused to pay for their tickets, they went home early. Really! Some family expect visits to relatives to be totally free.
It seems like travel during summer months would be more sensible for more reasons than the weather.
Oh well.
Yoiu can't do much about mom's concern about your brother. Hopeflly, the dementia will continue to work in your favor and mom will have none of the troubling effects that can happen beyond these.
Too bad about your brother's callous behavior. But at least he got a dose of reality about what is happening.
Dont blame you for skipping the hassle of a big dinner for some boob tube and a sammie instead!
