thanks-atrial fibrillation is basically arrhythmia of the heart which leads to blood clots and/or strokes -shes has both :-(-i pray alot too

I am sorry to hear your Mom hasn't had a good day which also makes you not have a good day. I know the emotional part to watch our loved ones go down really does hurt. I am sorry you have to watch this happen. Just remember you can't control it. All you can do is love her. My prayers are with you and your Mom.

Cinben, if your mother has shortness of breath today, I would call her doctor. You want to make sure her BP is where it should be. She may need a medication adjustment. You may want to have her seen by the doctor just to make sure everything is where it should be. I'm assuming here she's on warfarin? Do you know for sure that your mother takes all her medications every day?

My mother has Afib also. She hasn't had any trouble with it because she takes her medications every day and I don't allow her to eat anything that works against the warfarin.

What's her INR at? if that's high or low that could cause symptoms also.

I am sorry your mother is going through this; more so for your mother!

I like what PD has to say, sounds like she has had good experiences managing her mothers Atrial Fib.
