I am a caregiver of an elderly man who has incontinence. He often tries to hide it when he has an accident because he is embarrassed. I don't know what to do. Please help me.

I have many patients that have wetting accidents and I try to take their shame away by
cleaning their bed and continue talking with them so they know I saw it but it’s no problem at all.
I believe by talking about it helps too so they loose their shame.

There are undergarments that are made for incontinence. They look like underwear. If he wants to use them a doctor can get a prescription so that he can have them delivered to his home. You can see them in CVS. Tell him everyone has accidents and there is a whole industry dedicated to helping with dignity. No worries!!
