Caregivers Support Group
A voluntary caregiver is a spouse, relative, friend or neighbor of a disabled person or child who assists with activities of daily living and assists those unable to fully take care of themselves. I myself understand how you feel. My husband is a shell of himself after suffering a massive stroke. I love him with all my heart but I'm lonely for the companion he once was. It is very difficult for other people not in the situation to understand. You are responding normally to the attention of your neighbor. Noone wants to be alone, especially when you are dealing with the stress and emotional sadness of watching your husband die. My only concern is the money loaning. Do try to protect yourself from being too generous. If this man is honest he will be your friend WITHOUT your money. I hope you understand that .
Please keep in touch and let us know how you're coping. Glad you found DS and our group here !
Lot's of hugs, Gwen

Please give yourself some time and if at all possible, see a therapist to help you sort this out, so that you make the right decision for what is good for you, not what is good for someone else. Well, a relationship should be good for both of you, but you get what I mean, I'm pretty sure. Take care of you first, right now.
If this man is right for you now, he will be right for you later too. So I'd suggest you give it time.
Can you find a small circle of people to be friends with? It is amazing how others can give us perspective. Good luck to you and I am sorry you are suffering.
