Caregivers Support Group
A voluntary caregiver is a spouse, relative, friend or neighbor of a disabled person or child who assists with activities of daily living and assists those unable to fully take care of themselves. The challenges of a caregiver are unique and sometimes it's hard to find people to talk to who know what you're going through. Join the conversation and find others who...
ICJen,,, you could look into a health supply store. There are pads made for chairs that are designed specifically not to look like a pad, their seat covers. You could also talk with your doctor's office or a rehabilitation center that could answer the question very quickly for you.
Wishing you the best.

If these are not what you are looking for; call a health supply store in your area and ask for their assistance. I've already forwarded you a chat line site for this; you should be all set.
I am not answering your question as an occupational therapist, but as a person who knows some things about wheelchair cushions (I couldn't possibly answer your question as an OT since I have never met or assessed you).
If your mobility is very affected by your condition, it is recommended that you get a proper wheelchair cushion to protect your skin from bedsores. There are a lot of factors to think about when deciding on a cushion - how easy it is for you to shift your weight, how easy it is for you to sit up straight, how often your adult diaper leaks (although it shouldn't leak often if it fits properly), etc.
if you don't have a washing machine, I would suggest buying multiple cushion covers so your caregiver can wash them all at once when it's time for laundry. I would not recommend a disposable cover because they move around, aren't that effective at keeping your wheelchair clean, and like you said they are embarrassing.
since you are asking the same question on here repeatedly, it seems that you are not satisfied with the answers you are getting. Perhaps you should show these answers to your caregiver so he/she can help you decide. I would strongly suggest finding an occupational therapist to help you because it sounds like you would be better off preparing for the future instead of just using a temporary disposable cover that will not be best in the long run. Good luck.
