Hello,
I am not new to DS, but new to this group board and Thank God I had found a place to vent my ups and downs side of a life duty as a caregiver.I have been searching all over the net to find a net home and I know I have found it here.I also been trying to find email buddies, but no luck and most people don't realize how good, but stressfull this job does. I have been lurking here and reading some of the posts and all I can say, I sure can relate and understands..What a feeling that I am not alone in the caregiver world.
I am a stay at home caregiver to one of my sisters, she is in her 50s and have MS and now bedridden...Also, caring for my aging mom, that is complaining daily constant pains on her shoulder. She is 80 yrs old..but very light active.
I don't have much of a social life and am always putting myself last..which I don't complain that much. Being a caregiver is a noble and wise choice and never would change it . In my teen years, was caregiver to 2 older neighbors of mine and now am a full time to my family.
I do relate and all I can say is to stay strong.. I will be posting here often and getting to know everyone struggles and good hearted souls.

I am also now a "stay at home" caregiver to my husband. It's hard, but one does it out of love. And never really thought I would end up here.
But, here we are, both you and I, and feel free to vent or add advice or just give support.

I just joined yesterday and have already read a few stories that seem to put my situation into perspective. I'm very glad to have found this group and look forward to regular communication, a bit of strength (sometimes I need more strength than other times) and a few folks that I can relate to.

I am thinking of all of my fellow caregivers...Its quiet here on the homefront..This past week, my disabled sister with MS, she is planning to have surgery , once the heart doctor gives her the clearance..no date is set, but she is hyper and was trying to calm her down. She will have a pump removed from her stomach.
My mom still complains pain and I been doing errands,food shopping. 2 weekends ago, she was very weak and dizzy and could not walk..new to me and was scared. So I had made her tea and rested and she been to the doctor and she told me that what she had experienced was a mild stroke..Now am keeping my eyes on her. I always read health books, but never knew it can happen to her. She is better,and now I know what to do next time..
