well the only good news we got yesterday was that the basketball cyst is not cancer.
the cyst has formed because of her endometriosis . she has the worst case of endo they have ever seen. she not only has 2 cysts like orginally told but 5.they said it is like a bomb exploded inside her.
the endo is so bad it has starting attacking all her other organs. the endo makes these adhesions that form from the uterus to the outside. well the adhesion which are like bubblegum are attatching to all her organs. she is like a big sticky mess inside.
the basketball cyst is attatched to the spine. so with everything else going on surgery is only option but there is and 80% chance she will never walk again after surgery.
then there is her arthritis, spina bifida and fibromyalgia to consider as well.those are life long with no know cure. but the surgery will flare up all 3 of these already exisiting conditions.
and surgery may not aleviate all of her belly pain. because she should have had surgery for the endo when she was 20, now that she is 50 there is ALOT of scar tissue. so they may not be able to remove all the scar tissue during the surgery.
so while it isnt cancer it is almost as bad.if she doesnt have the surgery because the endo is attacking organs it could kill her.
waiting on call for appointment for consult with surgeon which take up to 2 months.and then after consult still have to wait for surgery date and who knows how long that will be.

Your wife must be in a lot of discomfort. I would take one step at a time. If surgery is the next step it would ultimately be your wife's and your decision.
