Glad you found this site. You will get replies from other DSr's and lots of support I'm sure. I'm not a caregiver for someone with a spine injury. My husband has last stage copd. But I get thru a day of caregiving by being sure I get a good nights sleep. If my hubby is having a bad night and I don't sleep then I resort to sleeping when he does. If he falls asleep in his recliner I head for the couch or bed. Be sure to look into respite care for yourself (ask his dr) and maybe in home help to give you a needed break even if it's just to take a nap. Hugs to you, Sandy
Thanks so much for responding! And- thanks for the hug, too! I appreciate your outlook on catching sleep. Good advice- the sleep part is easy enough to adapt to. I am in a tough spot regarding respite care, though. Presently, my husband is getting worker's comp benefits, and they- of course- won't pay for respite care. Oh well...
And, a big hug back! :)
