Hi I am helping my mom take care of my 90 year old grandma She is in the moderate stages of Alzheimer's we have been taking care for her about a year we brought her out to our house because she was falling a lot when she lived at her home by herself She falls a lot . And when she falls she has no idea how to get back up It is a really hard job somedays she can't even dress herself with out help She goes to the bathroom every few mintues Some days she cant remember anything. I really could use some advice.
Big hugs to you. It sounds like you are giving around the clock supervision and a safe environment. Have you checked on the alzheimer support group here on Daily Strength? they may have some tips for you.
As far as the bathroom issues, have you taken her to a urologist? Sounds like an overactive bladder problem and there are medications for that. My hubby had similar problems and is much better with a medication.
Hang in there! It is a hard job but you are a wonderful granddaughter to be there for her!
