so we went for the test on the 3rd. they called yesterday and said they were starting to analize the results and found something confusing. They wont say what but before they are ready to give her any results regarding if it is cancer or not they want her to go through a whole battery of tests.
they want her to do another mri, and ultra sound and a crap load of blood work.there is 2 sets of blood work. one she has to fast for and the other she doesnt.
so i have no ideal what is going on now. this was suppose to be just a routine test to see if the cancer cyst was back. now what did they find?why so many other tests?
and yes there exact words were they were "confused". heck they are confused? what about us? i think i am more confused than they are.
this is so frstrating.doesnt she have enough to deal with. she has fibro, arthrits and spina bifida. what's next?

So sorry to hear this anne.......I call it " They are covering their butt ". Hate to sound crude but as I have learned that's pretty much the way our medical system is these days. Hubby & I have been thru countless tests that later seemed wasteful and expensive.

Just try to be brave and Hang in there friend ! Good Luck :-)

So sorry. I hate it, a patient is either sent for what seems unnecessary tests or the right tests or treatments aren't done. I've dealt with it a lot with my hubby. Heck when he had prostate cancer the doctors said they wanted to get right at radiation treatments. That was in January of 2008. We called every couple weeks to find out when he was scheduled what the doctors had decided and never got a return call. Urologist and Oncologist still hadn't made a determination. Finally in April after months of "hurry up and wait" I was mad and called them, it was cancer for goodness sakes. The excuse, get this, was and I quote "We hadn't heard from you and thought maybe you went to Florida for the winter". OMG Not a good cover their butt comment but I had them in a noose because I told them that if my husband died from this after they dragged their feet that I would be seeking out an attorney.

Don't be afraid to rattle a few chains to find out what the heck they are talking about and why all the tests. Make them accountable.

annewinnie- I cannot imagine the frustration. As my friends Phoebe & Sandy have said- hang in there & ask questions about everything.
