Stories that wind up being accidentally funny are the funniest!
freakin gold...
Captain, your mom sounds like fun! I take care of my mom and she cracks me on a daily basis.
One day I remember going to the mall with my daughter and we were pretty much ready to leave as the mall was closing. We were by the door waiting for my husband and all of a sudden this kid come barrelling around the corner what seemed like 50 miles an hour and was running in toward the grocery store! Our mouths were wide open as if ready to yell but too late.... BAM!! Right into the glass doors as the mall doors had been closed to the inside of the mall! This kid looked like a fly smucked on glass and bounded back as if he was jumping on the springiness mattress known to man! All we could hear was "Ughhh!" He got up so fast and took off in the other direction so fast I couldn't even in between bursts of laughter ask if he was ok?
All I can remember is my daughter and I laughing so hard we couldn't breathe enough to explain to my husband what happened!
What was even funnier is the next day when my daughter and I went to the mall we saw big huge red "X's in tape on the glass now! Hahahaha! Could not stop laughing!!
thanks for the laugh! I really needed it today.
So what does this have to do with caregiving ??????
Stop wasting this board .
I'm sorry that life is tough right now that you can't take a minute to enjoy a giggle! Sometimes a minute away from your crappy reality is a gift.
I hope things get better for you. I'm praying for you!
We are all caregivers on here!
Thank you my friends for the funny in my otherwise difficult life! I appreciate all of you!
mcqn8 giggles or not, support is sharing stories that are Helpful not boring.
At this point you had two choices-to read or not to read.
To insult and accuse anyone in here of not being a supportive caregiver indicates to me you are looking for some release of anger.
I wouldn't suggest a "fun" post is where to go to devolge this upset. We are on here to support each other and if you feel the need to judge please don't do it on a "fun" post. If you read a majority of the comments to Aprils note they were positive and appreciated. The only one who was upset was you. Two choices read or don't read. No need to attack the rest of us who appreciated a bit of humour in their crappy tiring frustrating sometimes hurtful lives of caregiving!
April. Keep the humour coming some days it helps a persons day from going from an abusive one to actually thinking there's nothing better for the soul than a giggle!
Hailey this is my last note to you explaining (I don't know why) laughter is good for the soul and you and I have a difference in opinion about "support" sorry if you thought our stories were boring!
Can I ask if there is any help I may be able to offer you that isn't humourous and serious? Maybe I can help you a different way.
What is going on in your life? Maybe our caregiver experience can help you. Please let me know what I can offer in a way to help you with some suggestions or advise.
Your caregiver supportive friends.
in the last year I've lost a grandson to suicide and my mother-in-law. My husband is over a hundred miles away right now taking care of his father who is in the beginning stages of dementia, probably gonna have to put him in a nursing home. He's been there more than home for the last year and we're behind on all of our bills because he hasn't been able to work.
and then there's my health. Depression (clinical), fibromyalgia, herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, arthritis, chronic fatigue, ptsd.
now, you know my life story, how about you? What are you dealing with that makes you feel you need to attack me? Talk to me, maybe I can help you.
