Caregivers for Spouse Community Group
Anyone caring for spouse with a disability
My husband has ALS and it has not only taken husband away but our marriage. it's affected his mind. He's verbally abusive, controlling and possessive. The more he treats me this way the further away he pushes me. If not for the disease we would still be happily married. How do I leave him but how can I stay? I'm going to have a breakdown. No one to help support me during all this. My mother is elderly and not well. No ther family except adult children who don't want to be in the middle. If I leave he will be angry and revengeful. I'm afraid he'll tell everyone I abused him, he'll use his disease to the full extent even though he's still pretty independent. I wish I had the strength to deal with it. I don't know where to turn. Glad I found this forum. I wish there was a local support group. I am in therapy but not helping my much.

The equator is a few degrees north, so...
