How negative is pot on your lungs?

I am wondering how many of you worry about the negative effects of pot on your lungs? I have serious issues that pot helps me with but I have to out weigh the negative effects of all medicines that I use. Sometimes my lungs hurt when I smoke and I do my best to do edibles that I get from a collective (which has only been a couple of times). Perhaps I need to learn to make edibles on my own because they we the best on my pain and they lasted for a long time. But smoking is convenient. Anyhow, that is my question.....

I am impressed with the knowledge in this group so I thought I might learn something here :o)

If you are concerned with smoking it, you can do a couple of other things like eat it, for example. I found that the buzz lasts longer and digests in the same amount of time as a fast acting pill. No harm to the lungs and helps ease the stomach better too. Brownies, no matter how cliche are still the best and gives you that sweet buzz. You can use it just like oregano in Italian food or like chive in Chinese/ Asian food... like cilantro in Hispanic food... it's good with all cuisine.
Also, there is the vaporizor that doesn't put toxins in your lungs. It purifies the smoke and you are left with pot vapors.... I hear it is good but have not experienced this one.

Yeah, what Nytwolf said. Eat it or vape it. And don't get to thinking that you can only vaporize it if you have one of those fancy expensive vaporizers. You can actually make a homemade one if you're really strapped for cash. I don't like the idea of vaping personally. It's just a quirk of mine, but it's true, it's great for people with bad asthma and stuff.

Also, if you can grow your own or change the type of weed you're getting that might make a difference. There are some types that are so easy to smoke that it's almost like breathing straight air but with that yummy gardeny taste.
