With respect I'm not sure we know what Jesse and Shelly think.

We are called "life saving rock stars" but I certainly don't see any other evidence of that belief.

I use to be optimistic, especially at the old site where we had everything we could possibly need and it was always booming....just like a little city...and there was always someone to talk to .....always something going on like professionals giving talks in the group of their expertise and they had yearly road races for the fitness groups and if you ran one, you got a free DS T shirt. The lives that were made better, sometimes even saved through the use of the instant chat were many. I can think of 3 off the top of my head that happened that way because there was someone on the other end to listen to their desparate pleas for help or just to listen. I am sure there were many more.

Now I am just grasping at straws....

I think that is what is so maddening - we all have instances where the work we've done has either been life-saving or life-changing or life-affirming. It's hard to walk away from that. I get to the point of walking away, and then somebody posts something about how this place is their lifeline and how much it helped them, and then how do you ignore that?

It's a pity that DS seems to know nothing about what this place actually does anymore or they simply don't give it any weight in their own busy little cyberworld. And if it should be that they're trying to tell us that we're going to be shut down, I wish they would get it over with so i can at least prepare my group for it. No one comes to DS because they already have ab adequate support system - this ain't "social" media.

Sigh....

I think you've put it well Martha.... It was just this for me when I found the site …

I was at home caring for two dying parents who I loved and I could seldom leave the home.....DS was truly a lifesaver and I know everyone here has a their own powerful story.....

Sharecare is all about caring for health but does sharecare consider DS under the same umbrella or do they consider themselves a separate entity and DS to be an afterthought?

Surely myself and Martha are not the only one to consider that an option of shutting this site down is within the realm of possibility? For all we know, sharecare may want to scrap this site and come up with a sharecare version of what this site was.

I can't help but wonder what our founder would think of what his creation has become?

I'm guessing it is of very little importance to him.

Just want to add a bit of info about groups on DS. No groups on DS are private. Instead, DS offers groups that are either listed or unlisted in the directory of groups. Anyone who has a link to the group can view the content posted in the group. This is why we try to avoid discussing specific members by name in the group, as there has always been the chance that someone else can view the content.

Unfortunately, this has always been the case on both the old and current versions of DS. As such, if you post in this group then it may show up on your activity feed. We do have a request in place with the development team to stop showing content from unlisted groups in the feed, but there hasn't been any development work on DS in a long while - so I can't say when the fix will be implemented.

In the past when people have found this group I have deleted the group and created a new one. If you'd like to have this group be removed and then recreated, then let Shelly know and she can take care of that.

Jesse, from memory the CL group was never breeched between 2009-2016(?), ie the whole of the time we were on the old system.

Since we have been on the new version we've been breeched 4-5 times so obviously it isn't the same.

Let me know via my personal email when the 'development team' decides to fix this problem.

From your comments, there doesn't seem to much hope for any improvements within the next decade. Thanks for everything, and I hope I will be able to return to a workable situation soon.
