My DD is 5 months old and last week was scalded by a family member. They placed a flask of boiling water on her pram and the entire contents poured on to her little legs. I was not there and am devastated. Here is a picture of the night of the burn: https://www.dropbox.com/s/lc3os37g5pfha33/2014-01-15%2019.45.25.jpg
We were told she had 4% mid-deep partial thickness burns. Biobrane was put on under GA the next morning but due to pseudomomous and it not sticking on the deeper areas it was removed a week later.
This is a picture of the burn yesterday during the medical review:

The consultant feels she will need a skin graft in that area 'here' and said it will not affect her mobility and is mostly to the side and back of leg above her knee. He believes the other areas will heal and eventually not scar/have colour pigmentation. I'm hoping and praying the next 10 days allow her wound to heal so much so that she doesn't need a graft. I talked to him about Recell but he did not believe this actually works as no double blind studies have been carried out. I'm just wanting some advice, and hope if it's truly an option.
I've been looking at pictures of before and after's on google of both skin grafts and donor sites, and both scar - the consultant said the donor site wouldn't? Also he said there would be no contraction in the graft is that true do you think? I feel desperately sad for her having to go through this and endure the pain of dressing changes and grafting.
Sorry for all the information and questions, I just want the very best outcome for my baby, like anyone going through similar, she did not deserve this.

Hi. I am sorry to hear that. I cannot offer advice on some of this. I had a skin graft as I was burnt as a baby due to boiling water. Do PM me if you like.

I went to the doctor a while ago to see about my allergies. He rubbed my arm and stuck things under the skin. Nothing. He poked and prodded, his phlebotomist drew so much blood people thought that we were dating. The tests all came back negative. Then one day I went back and I told him that I had found the cause of my allergy. It turns out, I am allergic to betrayal.
