so I was just wondering if people have told others about being bullied, I personally never told anyone and I regret it a lot because things could have turned out very differently, has anyone been brave enough to ask for help ?
I have talked about it since it happened (and it happened from second through eighth grade), but not while it was going on because I had always been told by my mom that it was best to "turn the other cheek." ..Of course looking back now I realize just how stupid that was and that if I had spoken up sooner I wouldn't have had to go through 7+ years of bullying.
Teachers knew what was going on though and always turned a blind eye or accused me of being too sensitive.
Ohh I think it is SO bad when teachers turn a blind eye, they shoudl be told about the consequences bullying can lead to and it should never be ignored!
Well, it only took me 36 years to talk about it and thats just now, back in my day, well you were regarded a Cissy if you talked, bullying was not as spoken about then as it is now, but even now I fear that its not talked about enough.
Nobody deserves to be bullied, nobody should have to turn the other cheek, it helps for a short while but not for long, one should seek help, one should talk, and if your teachers won't listen go above thier heads
Lets hope this site and many others can bring some help that is needed, were not cissys talking about were being brave, were telling the Bl***y truth, whats wrong with that
I said in another reply on the bullying support group, that I think the problem is society itself.
As long as society is driven by people's envy and greed I can not see how it can begin to tackle this type of problem. All wan can do is do what we can at the grass roots level and try to convince people that if society continues on this path it is condeming itself and the people who make it up to even greater suffering.
People have to wake up and realise that we cannot make ignoring what is going on around us and turning the other cheek a way of life.
It is changing, but oh so slow, greed and envy are sadly a part of life a part that may never go away.
Schools I think should take more responsibility, and it should become fashionable to Grass bullies , instead many turn away, which in turn feeds the bully, its only when the bully turns on them that they wish they had said something when they could have done.
Don't feed the bully, cos one day he may try and eat you. Defend your friends you know its worth it
I didn't say anything for awhile (I was bullied at work). Then I got brave enough to say something about to my supervisor and his supervisor. However, all that happened was the "beatings" got worse. I finally had to quit so that I could save my life (tried to kill myself 3 times before I left).
I agree with what has been said about society. If we don't stop it now, it will grow so bad that everyone (aka Targets) will be gone (most likely through suicide or homicide). I don't like that is how we are meant to live.
You can say that so much has changed through history but all history has really done is make it clear to people the way things should be.

My parents moved around a lot when I was growing up. I was shy because of it. Easy target I guess for the bulliers. It was more verbal than physical, but when it was physical it was pushing or I remember a girl in high school poking a fork into my back. When kids would call me names I would tell my mom but she was a bully herself. She would be they're right about you. So I quit telling her. Would tell peers at school and nothing. Was too scared to tell teachers. It leaves a lasting effect on your life. Now I'm 45 and will never ever put up with bullying from anyone. I let kids at my school, my mom, my ex husband bully me for too long and enough gets to be enough. When my kids were bullied at school I was up there talking to the principal to get it to stop. I went to whoever I could to make for sure it did stop. If it didn't stop my kids had permission to fight back. I don't condone violence, but if the school and local law wasn't going to do anything, then what else could be done. And the same will be done with my grandkids if they're ever bullied. Teachers and the principal did what they could do but always don't see it. I do go through proper channels first but sometimes the kids getting bullied has to stand up for themselves. But I do know sometimes that doesn't work either and it just gets worse. Mine and my kids situations wasn't extreme but was still hurtful mentally and physically. Parents also need to put a stop to their kids bullying. I have seen too many parents who know their kids bully and just laugh like their kid could never do that. A bully, who was bullying my 2nd oldest son, stopped bullying after my son stood up to him but then my son started bullying the bully. I put a stop to it right away!!!! It's not right either way. I am the type of parent my kids can tell me anything. And I'm that way with my grandkids. It's really really sad when kids have to change schools because the bullying is so bad. Anyway that's my story. I am much stronger because of it :)
