Yes, this is certainly emotionally challenging for her. Its too bad that her dad prefers not to seek treatment though. However, your daughter has rights and privileges and especially as she is still underage. Have you talked with DHS? I would. And this may not be an idea that your dh will agree with but something smart has to be done in this matter, right away. Good for you to open up for insights.
I dont think that this burden is coming because of your financial status. I believe that is insignificant. The girls at school have strong behavioral issues and they really should join with your daughter in seeking emotional counseling. You know that your daughters clothing choices should have no bearing on her as a human being. She is in school for a proper education and not to be showy as a stylish model. This is senseless behavior and ideas.
Now is really a good time for you all to draw closer together as a family, too. Even with therapy, your daughter will still need family support for the purpose of emotional healing, and surely your dh will agree with this. Are you encouraging your daughter to be strong, think positive, and you may simply use other resources than that of active skilled counseling to do this. You may find a local community support group, of which she may get free or reduced counseling and even some churches have youth groups where your daughter may be comfortable expressing her emotions. She simply needs others to talk to and listen to her for understanding. And I understand that she feels immobilized at this time. However, she has a voice and she deserves speak out and hopefully this will help to get back to normal emotions. Have you considered encouraging her to stay active at a support community online? This is a good idea.
Please do your research online and search in your communitys area; perhaps there is another way to get her help in which her father will support the idea(s). You are good to be helping your daughter. I hope that you find a health outlet with this matter.
