This is normal. She's probably going through a growth spurt and trying to build up your supply. My DS nursed almost every hour for the first two months of life. And again at four months, when he was going through another growth spurt.

She might also be using you as a pacifier, which is also completely normal for a breastfed baby. Mine won't take a bottle or a pacifier, he just uses me.

It's a lot of work and takes up a lot of your time, but the year will be over before you know it and it's completely worth it for the health of your little one. Hang in there!

Yes-but it won't always be that way or we'd never leave the house! My pediatrician told me if you're nursing for more than 30 min at a time your baby is using you as a pacifier but there's nothing wrong with nursing for comfort-especially if that's all you're doing right now and don't have an appt to go somewhere or something, for example.

Congrats! It really depends on "how" you start hurting? It is just your nipples that get sore? or is it more than that? Are you using any nipple cream? Pumping can hurt too so make sure when you do pump you put a little nipple cream in the tube part of the flange. Helps lubricate and your boob doesn't rub as much. Also check to make sure you are using the right size. Most of us use one too small. The medela website has great information even if you aren't using one of their pumps.

Also know that 6 weeks is about the magic mark where it starts getting easier for your and your baby.

Thanks A Lot for the support I never knew breastfeeding would be this hard I hope the soreness goes away. I had to quit using the pump because it hurt to much.
