Absolutely do not listen to everyone else unless they are experts on breastfeeding. My son is also breastfed and has stinky toots :) It's completely normal. Unless there are other signs of a belly ache (not only with others), your daughter is fine! Could her possible stomach ache while she's with them be from excess air from the bottle? Or, I remember you had been supplementing with formula (not sure if this is still the case), but could it be that? It could also be a whole host of other reasons, like others not holding her the same way you do, her missing you, etc.

Hang in there and never let anyone else influence YOUR decision. You know your daughter best!

breastmilk IS the best thing for your baby, don't let them persuade you any different. You are NOT hurting your baby. You are doing the best thing for her. I'd tell them to get their facts straight - breastfeeding IS recommended!

According to my family, it's breastfeeding's fault his farts stink, breastfeeding's fault he cries when other people hold him and don't make him happy like I do, and breastfeeding's fault he doesn't sleep 8 hours every night. I bet it's also breastfeeding's fault that the economy is in a recession! Breastfeeding killed my grandfather! Damn breastfeeding!... lol. Most of what comes from my family's mouths is crap. I'm getting very sick of bad advice that was not asked for.
Apparently I also don't let him cry enough, and I should let people smoke when they hold him.

I've breastfed and formula fed 3 babies, and I can tell you what anyone who has experience with babies knows - babies fart. All of them - formula or breastfed, and usually MORE if formula fed. Babies are stinky creatures! Breastfeeding is one of the best things you can do for your baby, and I'm so glad that you have been able to do it without problems (other than ignorant people!). Even if she does have a constant belly ache, formula feeding would likely make it worse so DON'T listen to them! ALL babies cry and get fussy - don't let anyone fool you into thinking that formula will fix that - if it would, NO ONE would breastfeed!! And you can't spoil a young baby rotten - hold her and love her (and breastfeed her!) all you want! Enjoy her!

You're doing a great thing by breastfeeding. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Babies often have stinky gas - doesn't matter what they eat. What until she starts on solids....my little one can stink up a room :) Breastfeeding is a wonderful experience for you and your baby and if it's going well, keep at it.

Not that you will convince them, but remind yourself of all the benefits you are providing her when you are called selfish. You know like all the money you are saving by having a healthier child with fewer doctor visits, money you will need when she gets into a great college because she's smarter because you breastfed her. ;-) Yes it's selfish to not give your money to major corporations when you can make something better for free. Like someone else said... the recession is our fault! LOL!

Some babies are very sensitive to other people, no matter how they are fed.

Keep going as long as you and she want to and do your best to shut out everyone else.
