While breastfeeding is recommended by many doctors, it is not as simple as it seems. This is a community dedicated to parents who are choosing to breastfeed, providing a safe place to discuss everything from pumping, to questions of whether baby is getting enough, weaning, breast care, scheduling, supply, and more.
Estrogen pills can effect your body's ability to produce breastmilk so that is the only thing you you'd want to consider and that you ought to stay away from if at all possible.
I have came across complications post partum and my obgyn and hematologist has deemed the mirena safe while bf'ing but for me the non hormonal iud is best (copper) because ofmy situation.
If you are ever unsure you could bring your concerns up to your dr again or even get a 2nd opinion.
btw...i wasnt told about all the side effects, i was only told about the GOOD things it has to offer..
