Does the size of the lump have anything to do with the type of surgery that will be done? Mine is under 1\2 inch.

Yes, to some extent. They look at size and type/stage/grade and give you options from there. Good luck to you.

It depends on the surgeon,some try to preserve a breast,others are more agressive,depends on what you want.
Many lumpectomies need further surgeries later.
Size is important,but they do not know till pathology gives a result.
There are also several types of mastectomy.
Mine was small but I wanted a modified radical mastectomy with nofes out to check.
A larger BC was found invasive during surgery.
There is not black and white,too much grey.
