Hi All,

I live in Eastern Canada and have finished up radiation treatments for breast cancer. I am wondering who takes tamoxifen and what the side effects are? I am not wanting the drug to make my normal hot flashes worse? Any reports would be welcome. Txs: e

Hi!

Ive been on Tamoxifen since last August and have had bearable side effects: Night sweats, joint pain, bloating, vaginal dryness, decrease in libido, thickening of the uterus, heavy periods and a general achy feeling, I went off it in February for two weeks before another surgery and I felt great. I keep taking it because I know the benefits and can deal with the side effects. Most women I speak to about it didnt have any terrible side effects so you should be alright taking it. I have been on Tamoxifen for over 4 years now and have not noticed anything major. I had a hysterectomy 2 years ago for fibroids which may have been worsened by the tamoxifen, but we don't know because I had issues before. There are many potential side effects, but it is hard to know how a person will do until they start. Good luck.

The only three things that bugged me was Joint and muscle pain, Hot Flashes (Which were only temporary) and constipation. Other than that, I don't notice anything out of the ordinary.

hi , I am on it now and was on it 10 years ago , not so bad for side effects. so far.
