I grew up in a time and place where self examination was supposed to be the key to early diagnosis- hense early help and cure.
I listened carefully to breast care plans at college, and perfoerformed monthly checks on my self from a young age ( after getting a doctor at the age of 19 to help me know exactly what to look for)
When I performed my usual monthly test, at around 24, my nipples leeked . I went straight to a doctor. The doctor couldn't understand why I had bothered him. As I believed leeking nipples were something I should inform GP's . I insisted on a a follow up. After 18 months of waiting, my follow up was to a counseler for people with extream para noir.
I am pritty angry about this, loads of young girls could be helped by early diagnosis but, they just passed me on to mental issues.
For the last 10 years, I have continued with similar issues. I've had constantly leeking nipples, regular pea sized lumps, unexplained bruzeses and pains in my breasts. Doctors have also performed blood tests, given examinations, I've had ultra sounds ect.
Whatever the deal with me, I am still angry that those first doctors treeted me like I was a weird hypochondriac. Why get girls to examin their breast then treat them them like freaks when they say theirs are not right.
I'm in my late 30s I pay for mastectomies every 2 years since I was 28, because I no longer trust anyone else. Its expensive.

It got to a point where I was getting mammograms but I stopped addressing the daily problems and used the maternity breast pads because of the leakage.
I hope you continue to search for answers. I think my one regret was that I gave up and spent years of discomfort.
