Hello Kashmier! This is my first day in the group. I was diagnosed right after the new year (2017 is starting off with a bang, lol)! My diagnosis is a lot like yours. Very early, non-aggressive, however apparently I it is in more than one area of the breast, so I'm scheduled for a mastectomy (unilateral) later this month.
True, we did not choose this path, but I don't believe it's God's desire for us to be sick. Our God is a good God! He's about healing, not sickness. It's the devil who seeks to kill and destroy.... but The Bible says, "And we know that God works ALL THINGS together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose, who have been called according to his purpose." So God will get us through! It's a battle, but He will be with us all the way. We are not fighting this alone. You sound an awesome person and I'm glad you found this group. Hello Kashmier,Attitude is so important and yours is so good. I had unilateral mascectomy in 1992 when my 2 sons were age 3 and 4. They found 3 nodes out of 9 had spread. I have been, thankfully cancer-free all these years and my sons have grown to be fine young men. Prayers to you!!!

Hello - I was diagnosed in june, I made it through chemotherapy and radiation! There are many strong women who have done this before us and we will join them on the other side of this!

Hello Kasmier :) I'm 5 years breast cancer free. I caught mine early and was Stage 1A. Five sentinel nodes were removed, I had invasive ductal breast cancer. I have been on Arimidex the last 5 years and with the studies, I choose to remain on this A-1 inhibitor another 5 years. I know I'm getting a little ahead of your situation, just wanted to give you a readers-digest version. Like I said to another poster here, I relied on The American Cancer Society for alot of help. They assigned me a mentor who kept up with me, got me to treatment and helped out financially. I really like your attitude and your beliefs which will help get you thru this. Once you start, you will be very busy with schedules and doctors appts, etc. Just remember, when you are released and all is said and done and you are done for another 3 months, it's the let-down that sometimes may get to you emotionally. I made sure to get, during this time, all the rest I could to begin with the healing process. I just started going thru the healing (emotional) process 5 years later with an oncologist social worker because I just wasn't ready back then. Keep us posted, we're rooting for you !!!

Unfortunately I was diagnosed 3 days ago. Breast cancer has gone to lymph nodes. He told me point blank no cure I can only be treated and hope for a couple of years. I see the oncologist the 31st of this month. I don't know what path I will chose if I have a choice. I'm 71 have copd and in 2 1/2 years have lost my husband, my oldest daughter and my son. I currently have custody of my 8 year old g/daughter and provide a home for her 2 older sisters that are legal age but due to economy can't live on their own yet. Their parents turned to drugs. I'm sorry for the fight you all are going through. I had to watch my oldest daughter die. She died from the treatment not the esophageal cancer. I don't think I could deal with treatment at my age. I guess I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. If given a choice. I pray for something good to happen. I found out in praying that God says NO, a lot. I will still pray for all of you. Linda

I forgot to ask. I have to have my breast and lymph node under my arm removed. If anyone has experienced this can you please give me an idea of how long it takes to be able to have use of your arm again. Thank you. Linda

I had three lymph nodes removed and had a lumpectomy. I was able to use my arm but I couldn't wear a watch or rings for a few years. Also back packs were a no no. I have been in remission for over 7 years so even now I only wear a watch when I absolutely have to and not to put too much pressure on my arm. I hope that helps.

How is your treatment going? Are you all done at this point? You are blessed to have found it so early ! I was diagnosed with it in April 2017 after having weird symptoms for a year that no one could diagnose. My tumor had grown to over 2 inches. Going through chemo right now, then surgery and then radiation. I know that this is from environmental causes as I went through genetic testing. This is a work of Satan, but I gave it all to God a while ago and he is protecting me and carrying me through all of this. I am having EXCELLENT results because of him and everyone says I have a very large sense of calm about me, which I do. I am not worried at all and know I will come through all of this just fine because of the Lord. I hope you are doing well !
